This is my show where I take old thrift store clothes and I refashion them into beautiful vintage style outfits! This one is a great Thrift to Vintage ep8!

I found this drab 90's dress at the thrift store. I liked it because it was 100% cotton, nice and soft too! And I like the print, navy and white so no surprises there really!

What are some of the changes I made...

  • Shortened the skirt length
  • Created a collar to fit the neckline
  • check
Created a matching yolk down the front
  • Made a belt ad pockets from the cut of hem fabric
  • check
    Changed the buttons, of course!

With just a few sewing skills you will be amazed at what vintage style outfits you can refashion and upcycle from old thrift store clothes!

As there is so much wasted clothing now days, I believe we should make the most out of what is already in existence! Refashioning is one way that I try to bring more sustainable options in my wardrobe.

I hope it gives you some great ideas for your own refashions!

Let me know how you like it, and it you might try something similar!

Until next time...
Bye

Hello, I have a flair floor length skirt, how could I refashion it into a 1920’s fashion dress for like an adult prom? It’s black with sequins on it.
