How to Tie a Vintage Turban – From an Original 1940’s Tutorial!

Another instalment in the turban tieing series! This one is based on a tutorial I saw, from the actual 1940’s! So it doesn’t get more authentic than that!

still

If you haven’t started wearing turbans for hair scarfs in your new vintage style wardrobe yet, don’t worry, this style is for you! It is simple and not over the top! You can wear it with a fringe out the front and it doesn’t even cover your whole hair!

Hair scarfs are perfect for covering a bad hair day, or a day you just don’t want to do your hair but you still want the ‘finished’ look! You will not regret giving it a try and finding one that can be your ‘go-to’ style!

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial and that is has added another method to the turban madness!

If you try it out, let me know in the comments below!

I’ve seen lots of photos but never seen you speak. Love this tutorial! I always knot rather than twist! Now I know! You’re lovely x

Hi Tessa! I know, it is always strange when you hear someone talk after seeing so many photos only, it’s always different to what you had imagined right! I am really you found it useful! The twisting is especially nice when you have a 2 toned scarf!

LOVE IT! Such a great look & so fast! I *have to* do scarves on the days I am in a rush. Just subscribed to your channel & look forward to all your other videos!

LaVonda C Thankyou! I too started with scarves for those days I didn’t do pin curls or looked a disheveled mess!! Now I also do for fashion! Many more videos to come!

Hi Evelyn! I love your video tutorials. I just wanted to point out that your audience may include men and that it would be nice if you could start your videos by saying hello to both ladies and gentlemen.
There are lots of men out there who also love vintage and wear clothing we might traditionally deem “women’s”.

    Cheers!!

Hi Gemma! You know I had thought about this recently! My audience is 95% women, but I think it is growing to include men, especially as I talk about now not just how to style ladies clothing, but how to sew etc! I will have to keep this in mind for the next one to get into a better habit now!

I came across your site while researching a vintage turban style hat I randomly picked up at an auction. Old(ish) man here, but I loved the video. And your little wink towards the end melted my heart.
